Cremated Garden is meditation on the cause and effect process of writing poetry. An homage to the San Francisco Beat poets of the fifties and sixties, it follows an anonymous writer as he moves through out the city. The narrative unfolds in a non-linear fashion, as what the writer sees and experiences is retold and rearranged into the spoken word which spans the duration of the film. Correspondence between words and images is sometimes immediate, mostly symbolic and often absent. The film comments on poetry, while the poem focuses on the world captured by the camera.
