People don't know that the slapping was done in the past due to the amount of drugs that the woman was given, they pass over through the placenta and made the baby unresponsive.

Because for some, warm water acts as a relaxant, for muscles and the womans mind.... in other words, sometimes the warm water can help ease the pain of contractions.
