Or at least port it to another system so that it's more available to today's customers. I've been wanting to play this game so the closest I've got is the PC version (Platinum 4-disc) for 20 bucks on ebay.

An FF7 remake is not too difficult-sounding when you play the original game after having played Final Fantasy X. Redesign the world map, similar to how you redesigned it in 1997. They're geniuses - they can figure out how to keep the buggy, Tiny Bronco and the Highwind in and practical while also uplifting the not-to-scale world map. Imagine seeing Cloud in the same detail as Tidus in 10, or better!, with whatever sword you have equipped on his back - IMAGINE AN HD OMNISLASH! Oh wait - Advent...

Remaking that four disks worth of content, that was jammed packed as it was, up to standard with their modern games. Not happening. Unless they wanted to spend 10 years or so on it. Although I'd happily lap it up if it was even to the standard of their PS2 games :D

lol considering how popular FF7 is I am sure a remake has the potential to have sales unlike ever seen.
However I am also certain Square don't have the balls to do that.
A remake of FINAL FANTASY 7<------- for gods sake. Its probably their biggest treasure and they know if they mess up the remake the fans are gonna go apeshit on them.
A Remake would mean do or die.
Square won't take the chance to die here.
