were these mdf cabinets or real wood? what kind of stain did you use?

These cabinets were real wood. We used the 2 in 1 stainer, that includes the varnish in there. I don't remember the brand name, but it was a small blue can, and we chose the color mahogany. I'm sorry but this video was soo off. I forgot to set the camera during everything we did.
basically,
First we stained them as is, and realized it wasn't going to work. A Friend of ours told us we had to strip them and sand them down. So the process is,

1. Take off all the cabinets
2. put stripper on all the cabinets
3. Use the plastic scraper to scrape off all the old stain.
4. Hose the cabinets down
5. dry them up with a towel
6. Sand it a little here and there
7. Apply the stain
8. Let it dry in the sun, it should only take about 2 hours.
9. Put them back on their hinges.
We thought this would be an overnight project, turned out to be a 2 day project.
