How to cook a classic American sandwich, the Philly Cheesesteak. It's an easy recipe, and makes a great summer meal.

  • what kind of bread should I use?

  • @ShookOne92 I usually just use sandwich rolls from the store.

  • What kind of seasoning should I use?

  • @gabluesdude I usually use seasoning salt, but you can just use some salt and pepper to season.

  • Top Round is too tough for a classic Philly Cheesesteak. RIb Eye works the best.

  • @CSpanAddict1982

No, top round is not too tough. I've used it many times, and it worked just fine. Rib Eye would work, but it's just a bit too fatty for my tastes.

  • @jec10186 How do you figure I don't eat well, simply because I don't like green peppers? There is more to eating well than eating peppers.

  • Top round is a tough meat to work with but this guy seems to have pulled it off.

  • Yo! You're defiantly not from Phily! I've never seen wiz or any cheese put on the frickin' roll...wtf is that?

Use Rib Eye cut as thin as possible, saute onions (optional) with meat while chopping & flipping with edge of spatula, melt cheese throughout the meat (Provolone is original, American is best, cheese wiz frickin' sucks), and ketchup (optional, but normal).

Your sandwich is just o.k. at best, but would never fool anyone from Phily or S. Jersey.

  • I LIKE YOUR APRON

  • Great recipe, thanks!

  • Tom green making cheesesteaks!

  • i use garlic salt to season my steak in a philly cheese steak :)

  • I just can't listen to a guy with his voice tell me how to make a cheesesteak. I need more of an alpha male for authenticity. Like "Yo, you pud the friggin steak in da pan like diss..." kinda guy.

  • a real man wears an apron in the kitchen!

  • I like using shaved roast beef from the deli for mine.

  • Your supposed to heat up that Cheese Whiz.
