One of our many Testudo hermanni hermanni nesting on a warm July day. This female in particular phantom nested for 2 years in a row (digging and covering a nest with no eggs being produced) and then this year she deposited 1 fertile egg.

  • it is possible for them to survive in hibernation outdoors during the winter, but I do not advise doing it. I bring all of mine in and artificially hibernate them in refrigerators.
