@DMANGUY14 Unfortunately, the FCC requires a fixed antenna because the radio has FRS built-in. I know it sounds odd, but that's the law. The antenna can be removed, but it's a hassle. Sorry!

@SoccerDJRob FRS is Family Radio Service, which can be used on land without a license. Very handy.

Thats great! Most popular,and one of the best then why is it so hard to gets parts for.For example the charging cradle.Was $19.99 now over $30. I can't even order one through West Marine ? Thanks guys! I'm alittle disappointed.

I had this exact radio and there is only major problem and one minor problem. Major: it uses a fixed antenna and the interregnal connection will break if used alot mine lasted 1 summer but that's with carring mine for hours a day teaching sailing. Minor: no lanyard hole
