One of the last titles on Federal Records. I don't know much about Lori and Lance, except this was a fine two-sider from 1969. It has a little bit of Memphis in it, a little of the King Sound, maybe a touch of Chi-Town, but for sure it's got a lot of Soul.

  • i love this one. i'm groovin' on that guitar line in the verses especially. those are DEFINITELY the memphis horns on brass. the drums (and i love drums) are SMACKIN'! listening to the echo on the vocals and the cymbal thing the drummer does on the end vamp (like on many of aretha franklin and candi staton's '60's sides) i'd go out and say this was recorded at FAME studios in alabama and was probably produced br rick hall, dave crawford,or brad shapiro. but that's just based on my ear! lol!

  • yeah fred, it's the horns that made me think some memphis, but you've got a great ear for the tracks, so the shoals wouldn't suprise me a bit. i love this track.
