We all say we'd help. I'd like to think I would help, but I can't quite remember the last time I stopped to help a stranger out. I'm sure I've ignored some and help some.

I don't want to be attacked for this but I haven't seen this opinion so far...

OK, is there another reason, potentially? What about all the people that walk by and think to themselves "It looks like they're in pain and it's horrible for them, but they are content living like this, so we're all best off if I just leave them be".

I'm a very compassionate person and I pass a few homeless people per day. I have suicidal thoughts but this is evidence that the weak help create the reactive behaviour
