Bill Straub had significantly more athletic ability than Max Jensen. In my opinion, Max was a much better competitor on the lanes. Neither bowled action in the 1970s. Max was a good ball driller and bowling instructor. Burly Max was a "FOOD GUY", and I like food guys. In the 1970s, at a breakfast stop, he ordered "the left side of the menu" which consisted of approximately 6 breakfast dishes. The waitress was flabbergasted. He broke a bed at a motel in SD then won PBA Regional.

Two of the "biggest" bowlers hail from Lincoln, Nebraska: Bill Straub and Max Jensen. In 1972 they totaled 550 pounds if my trivia memory is correct. They could both tear the covers off the bowling balls, too!
