here's my simple DIY project showing how to make a mobile device stand (or dock) from a cardboard sleeve; the kind that comes with a cup of coffee. the application here is for my iPhone 3G [S], but with the right cutting dimensions it can be applied to any mobile device held in widescreen mode.
BTW, the video playing on my iPhone is one of my BMX flatland sessions. if you're interested in seeing it follow this link: http://bit.ly/2WVKDd
video shot and edited using the following:
Sony DSC -H9 (video)
Final Cut Express 4
Burn.app 1.72u*
Handbrake.app 0.9.1**
Mac Mini 2GHz w/ Mac OS 10.4.11 (Tiger)

song: "Holla When You Get The Time"
artist: @riel (yeah, me)
composed using Apple's Garageband.
you may download the song here:

* used to convert the MP4 to DVD/MP2, 9000kbs
** used to clean-up and polish the final cut.
enjoy,
@riel

I wonder how long it will take APPLE to do a 'work-around' like they've done with Jailbreaking. They'll probably come up with a virtual 'cardboard detection system' with the next update that will disable the screen while resting on the cardboard sleeve, unless of coarse it's designed by APPLE in California ... but made in CHINA!!
