  • Have an old Motown LP with this song on it.

  • cant remeber this but wooooooooooooooooooow!!!

  • tru blood sent me here

  • @retrogradevids1 You're partly correct, but as a musician I must correct you somewhat. Below are the keys these songs were recorded in:

    "Shake & Fingerpop" - F major

"What Does It Take" - F major (though I could see how you would interpret G because of the G minor opening chord)

    "Shotgun" - A-flat major, not C# minor

"Come See About Me" - D major, not minor

But you're right, Jr. Walker is definitely NOT a "one-key wonder."

  • put on 'yo wig woman!!! Let me get my JERK on ,Hey.....StonieDogStl...PEACE !!!!

  • Top top tune from one of the real stars of Motown, it just makes you wanna dance. Thanks for posting

  • cant help but.... shake and finger pop every time i hear this song!!!!! :)

  • Always amazes me how the greatest artists are not given the kudos they diserve. Elvis Presely, Jerry Lee Lewis were pale imitations of greats like Jr. Walker and Little Richard. Yet they get the accolades.

  • @gasfgiop Shake & Fingerpop is in the Key of F , Shotgun is in the key of C#m, What Does It Take is in the key of G, Come See About Me is in the Key of Dm, need I name more or does sufficiently debuke the one key wonder statement?

  • @jazzciggarette Black women wore wigs a lot back in the 60's a la DR and the Supremes, Retha, you name them. That was the style in the 60's. You especially wanted to wear one to go out to shake and fingerpop cause your real hair would get sweaty and 'go back' and you'd be out there on the dance floor looking like a chickenhead. This predates weaves.

  • @jazzciggarette - shake = dancing while moving your hips to the music. fingerpop = snapping your fingers.

  • go man....blow that horn!

  • @jazzciggarette the wigs are a reference to the song "Hi Heel Sneakers"

  • Got Dang It! Let's tear the dance floor up! Get Up!

  • I'm so proud of the producers of True Blood for putting this in the show and on the soundtrack. Classic 60's R & B. Gotta love it. !!!

  • I guess wigs were in ...

  • Can anyone tell me what "shake and fingerpop" is? and why are wigs required.

  • jr. walker's sax solos in "shake and fingerpop" are very reminiscent of "shotgun", then again jr. walker could only play in one key, but what a sound, still!

  • definitely a sax...and it's called glissando :)

  • There was just an explosion of music in the 60's... My man Junior and the rest of the Motown artists were a big part of it -

    ....RIP, Mr Walker

  • Love this track. Why don't they make music this great anymore?

  • Red Neck Heaven

  • Someone actually had to ask if that was a sax or trumpet in the beginning of the song? Really now. Anyway ... was groovin on this when I was seven. Almost forgotten it. Thankya cc1873!
