Love Hélène: wonderful pianist, nice woman.

I like Grimaud's cool but beautiful interpretation very much - but what's that strange sound like a woman breathing that seems to run underneath this track?

@aeqvvs The most perfect movement in piano literature; it is etched in my soul. My rankings - #1 Samson Francois (on vinyl - my reference standard); (in person with Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra) #2/3/4 Grimaud, Alexander Toradze, Jean-Yves Thibaudet (but Thibaudet's CD with Dutoit/Montreal stinks); #5 Bernstein (CD). All are excellent, but all interpretations are distinctive. Ravel polished this movement for a week.

Bravo! Bravo!....i`m confused about the better interpretation of this music: Helene or Mr.Bernstein?

Thank you for being faithful to the words Adagio Assai, Helene. This is by far the most moving rendition my ears have been so fortunate to hear.

Eternity raveled, truth reveled, that no word can carry, only music.

étrange beauté du cor anglais joué à la perfection et qui sublime ravel

The best comment on the Allegro and Grimaud is the tears of the conductor.

Hélène Grimaud is a wonderful, beautiful and magicial at the piano.
I enjoy her work so much.
always come back to Ravel...especially when I feel the child in me betrayed. people can come in and try to wreck it but it remains intact always and forever. and Ravel the loneliest man that he was knows so...

I'm curious - is Gergiev conducting with a toothpick in his hand?!
