Thanksgiving With You

http://www.thanksgivingwithyou.com/

For years, Scott R. Williams saw a need for a song to recognize America's most celebrated holiday, Thanksgiving. One day, a song and some lyrics simply came to him, as an instant inspiration, fully formed as Thanksgiving With You. Destined to become America's new Thanksgiving holiday anthem, this timeless song appeals to all generations. A definite return to the days of Bing Crosby, both musically and in its traditional spirit, Thanksgiving With You brings home all the warmth of this beloved holiday. This song fills a gap in popular music to celebrate America's unique and most universally recognized holiday. It's a sentimental acknowledgement of the common experiences we Americans all share during this holiday and a sensitive tribute to memories of Thanksgivings past.

LYRICS:
This is the time of the year when everyone's planning for Thanksgiving Day.
Gathering families together or visiting homes far away.
Rooms full of out-of-town siblings or cousins with kids might all stay.
Year after year all our loved ones are here
And I'd spend Thanksgiving with you.

Golden roast turkey and maybe a ham, and stuffing like grandma would make.
Green beans and cranberry relish, and yams, and the pies that your sister would bake.
Football on TV and logs on the fire, and long quiet walks by the lake.
No matter the weather we'd all be together
When I'd spend Thanksgiving with you.

I'd spend Thanksgiving with you.
I'd spend Thanksgiving with you.
Year after year all our loved ones were near
When I'd spend Thanksgiving with you.

Now when our families sit down this November we'll gather together and pray.
New generations will try to remember the blessing Ol' Grandad would say.
There'll be some new faces at various places for life moves along in that way.
Our memories will play back the Thanksgiving Days back
When I'd spend Thanksgiving with you

I'd spend Thanksgiving with you.
I'd spend Thanksgiving with you.
But you went away and gone was the day
When I'd spend Thanksgiving with you

Today if I knew how to make dreams come true
Then I'd spend Thanksgiving with you.

  • Still love this and have come to think of it as "the" Thanksgiving song. Wanted to listen again this year, but can't get the music to play!! Agh! Help. - from your colleague at Iowa. -db

  • WILLIAMS! I want to do a hip hop remix, I'll cover the lower parts you can barely reach and we'll get Ciscon to wale on the top with you in the middle, be awesome!

    Nice job.

  • Scott - Beautiful song! I listened to it twice. Thanks for creating a song for America's favorite holiday. xoxo Kate

  • Scott, terrific job. Do you have a sequel, planned? Like a different Thanksgiving where the family members fight, drink too much, hate the food, etc. (;>). Just kidding.

  • excellent job scott! thank you very much for sharing! much love and light and a big hug, q ;)

  • A very tasteful blending of music and photos. Thanks for the reminder of what a unique and special tradition this is! Now, I'm really looking forward to Thanksgiving.

  • "Those Two Guys" just gave me goosebumps!! :) This song captures what Thanksgiving is all about and then some. I think many of us lose sight of what caertain holidays truly mean. They're more than just a day off, it's a time to reflect and enjoy being in the presence of the ones you love. Kudos to everyone involved in making this song...THANK YOU!

  • Beautiful paintings & photos~! Some of the photos remind me of the Thanksgivings of my childhood. And I like the historical illustrations interspersed with the modern photography & paintings. Thanksgiving is the ultimate American celebration...

  • @BB1948Dodge This would be good music to play during dinner on Thanksgiving.
