The final Kinks album Phobia explores what happens when we're no longer able to go back.

This is one of my favorite all time Kinks songs! I figured it out on the guitar!

One of their alltime best songs

@MrGriffey5656, yes and I love that album. He tries to combine an American type of vernacular with his Muswell surroundings. An under appreciated classic.

@jkoff76--Couldn't agree more with every point. Ray Davies was unbelievable at what he did, we can only HOPE for another.
Don't you love Muswell Hillbillies??

If I had a dime for every time I read on YoutTube that Ray Davies and the Kinks are underrateed, I'd be wealthy. Another thing that I read a lot is that they never sold out. I guess there's a correlation there, huh? I feel honored and blessed that I was exposed to this music. One advantage to the internet is that now others can discover what a treasue Ray's music is. It thrills me to pieces when I see people discover the Kinks.

"Same lungs that he gave me to breathe with...same eyes he gave me to see with."

This another song written by Ray Davies, that is so underrated
I agree with some of the comments here, he was so more advanced than the so called "super composers"
I have the feeling that John Lennon knew it!!
Paul McCartney? Too little a musician to know
Nobody. Because nobody is the songwriting genius that Davies is. He's the most socially conscious, middle class oriented, original songwriter there has every been. God, look at the music today. God send us another Ray Davies!!

Don't think religion is nonsense, personally
I'm not a believer but I can understand why someone needs faith in something to exist..
Some sort of reason to exist..
