My final video clip of the Myrtle Beach Pavilion Last ride celebration from the last day of park operation on 30 September 2006 is another shot of the 1905 German band organ which is the first thing I remember from my first visit to the Pavilion around 1965. I hope they find a new home for this classic instrument.

  • who owns it now?

  • @ncguy207 B&C still owns it --it's at Broadway at the Beach now, though last I heard it was not being played due to need for repairs.

  • Just came back from Myrtle Beach. We saw the organ displayed at Broadway at the Beach. I agree, they did not do this beautiful organ the honor it deserved. No way to sit and watch it like old times. Plus, it's no longer working (hasn't for months) and we can only hope that the owners will get it repaired.

  • Yes, I saw it there on July 4th. Unfortunately, it is not situated as well, and there is no viewing/listening area, you just have to stand in the walkway and impede foot traffic

  • Ah, sounds like a march medley. The fancy introduction quotes from both "Colonel Bogey" march and "The Stars and Stripes Forever" (which are probably included later in the medley). However, the first actual theme heard (and most of the clip until it gets cut off) is actually a famous German march, "Alte Kameraden" (Old Comrades). Nice clip!
