On a diet of about four films per day including Mike Leigh's Another Year, Gregg Araki's Kaboom, the cultish possessed car tyre movie Rubber, Woody Allen's You Will Meet a Talll Dark Stranger, and Hideo Nakata's Chatroom, I can't argue that most food groups aren't being served this year, but who is looking like Chef of the Cannes kitchen at the halfway point?

  • the image of Kermode, alone on the beach in the hot sun, while the whole of Cannes parties behind him....is truly hilarious... I'm sure he was going for some sort of poetic lone gunman routine... shame it's ruined by the campers next to him... keep on trucking Mark.

  • *does math* is it an After Eight ?

  • Kaboom is one of the worst films I've ever seen.

  • love that zoom in when that women walked in the shot lol

  • Nice to hear approval on the new Mike Leigh movie.

  • u shud make a film!

  • Disappointing to hear Kermode say that the new Hideo Nakata film "Chatroom" isn't too good, I'm a big fan of Ringu and Dark Water and was looking forward to this one.

  • I can't wait for "Kaboom"! Sex, drugs, and the end of the world? My cup of tea, considering I loved "Donnie Darko".
