The second of 7 sections in which we, WHO2, have re-recorded the album 'Tommy' in honour of the 40th Anniversary of it's release.
It was released on May 23rd 1969, hence us releasing it today - May 23rd 2009. Exactly 40 years later.
When I first suggested the project to Pete and Chris I didn't know whether they'd think I was mad! But they jumped straight on board (yes, they are as mad as me it seems!) and the end result is something we are very very proud of.
Tommy was conceived and written by Pete Townshend bar a few tracks - 'Eyesight To The Blind' which was written by Sonny Boy Williamson. 'Do You Think It's Alright'; 'Cousin Kevin' and 'Uncle Ernie' all written by John Entwistle and Tommy's Holiday Camp' written actually by Pete but credited to Keith Moon because it was his idea. We have included a version of 'Do You Think It's Alright' before 'Cousin Kevin' also.
Thanks to Pete and Chris for everything. In the words of a certain Mr. Townshend - 'They made my dream come true....'

WHO2 are:

Gareth - Bass Guitar and Vocals.
Pete - Guitar.
Chris - Drums and Vocals.

  • Better than the tribute band Amazing Journey.

  • I have to admit, I started watching part 1 expecting to be disappointed, but it turns out that this is one of the best things I've seen on youtube. Fantastic!

  • Epic love for one of the greatest bands of all time!!! Great job, cheers!

  • Great job! Now time to get to work on Quadrophenia-I guess that will come out in 2013 right? :)

  • Drummers Sick

  • The band is out of sync with each other, as I guess that's to be expected in this format. But the drumming is fantastic!

  • ive drummer fucking rocks ive alredy seen some vids of him playing alone

  • Amazing. Absolutely amazing. All three of you. Babyshambler, I wish you were at the Cali 1973 show, it could have been something epic instead of just an interesting footnote in musical history.

  • the singer sounds more like Pete than Roger
