just a test.

DVX100B 24p Advanced upres. Using the 24p advanced pulldown removal option in FCP.

I'll probably remove this video after I show it around a bit. SO DON'T WORRY! Real Videos are ON THE WAY!

We wanted to make sure we could shoot our webisode in HD (or close to it). We shot in 24p Advanced mode (anamorphic). I'm always surprised by this little camera.

These (basically) are the settings we used to achieve this:

  • how did you get such good quality and depth of field?

  • @tqb43 A lot of it is just zooming in, and then setting the f-stop as open as possible. That'll usually do the trick, if there's enough distance between your foreground subject and the background.

  • @machelli so theres not a good way to get shallow DOF in close quarters?

  • @tqb43 Not with the DVX or similar camera. You kind of need a 35mm Lense adapter for that OR a different camera, like a Digital SLR with a fast lense. I wouldn't worry too much about shallow DOF, though. If the content is there, people won't bemoan a crisp image.

  • PANASONIC DVX100 4 SALE - 750 OBO COMES WITH EVERYTHING NEEDED MINT CONDITION MESSAGE ME

  • @machelli Cool. That was quite cool tat it was a good picture at 1/1000 shutter speed, usually its quite dark!

  • @CircleofShit The shutter speed changed as you can tell from the side-tracking shot of the fence. It started at 1/60, and for that shot (the fence) it was, I believe, at 1/1000.

  • @CircleofShit @CircleofShit usually at least 8 Mbits for uprezed SD Material (and mostly constant bitrate) since i don't use much jumpcuts or fast cameramovements. You shouldn't go further than 17 Mbits when exporting uprezed SD material since the videos would only get bigger and bigger without any further important quality benefit. At least not for simple web presentations. ;)
