@ddancefloor No the "i" in "itai" is there. But since people dont really stress the "i" in itai (Due to different accents of the dialect) when people that dont speak Japanese tries to change it into romanji, the "i" is left out because it's not heard. and it has nothing to do with breaking down the word lolita. the proper term for what I like calling "lolita fail" is "Itai-lolita". :)
-
@SuperLoli101 Sorry, hadn't noticed it was a typo. xD
But I always see it typed out as 'ita' on every Lolita forum I come across... figured it was just the 'lolITA' part and it looking/sounding like 'itai'.
-
@ddancefloor Yes I know that >.>" thank you for pointing out such an obvious typo. :)
and Itai is the proper word form. "ita" Is close to being a slang. and you would normally hear people using "ita" when when they're saying "ow" repeatedly. There /are/ times in Japanese when people speak really fast, not every syllable is pronounced distinctively.
-
@SuperLoli101 Actually, it's 'ita', which does stand for 'itai'. So bad that it hurts the eye.
@banzaileah: it most likely doesn't. The pieces made for fashion shows usually have extra embellishment like sequins or rhinestones - the ones for public purchase will not.
