This is me talking to Kevin Durant and the rest of the OKC Thunder, last night during game 5 of the Lakers vs. OKC, 2009/2010 NBA playoffs. I was fortunate enough to also have sat in the same seat for game 2. WITH THE SAME SIGN (sign says: " VICTORY, IT'S OUR LIFE."), same jersey, SAYIN' THE SAME THINGS! Also at the end of game 2 I had the sign slipped under the OKC locker room door! I swear to God.
I tried as well this time, I just can't say it made it there for sure. Let's hope so.
I held the sign up periodically at game 2, but this time I felt inspired & went to work : ) All of game 5, I held that sign up loud and proud every single break and time-out! Never being rude or a jerk, just tellin' em' the truth! Ahh I tell ya, we all had fun. Even the Thunder.
OK, maybe not Sefolsha. (OK, get it!)
When it is on the coaches all talking in the middle,of the screen, near the paint, (right before LL Cool J walks in front of me and I tell him I love his earrings...) I was pointing to the sign and the wall full of championship banners! They were all looking at me kind of smiling and talking about it lol.
Also, what Jeff Green says to me is "we play you on Friday". I was pointing at my sign and shrugging my shoulders to him, and he said that, so I pointed up to the banners again.... same thing got Sefolsha.
Oooh. too fun : )
In all honesty though, I like em'. They are a bunch of good guys and wicked ball players.
But they aren't gonna pass us. Sorry 'bout it.
I had a job to do for the Lakers, so I did it.
Yes Laker fans, don't forget... These good times. Because when Kobe retires, the 'Lake Show' is cancelled. Kobe, Pau, Artest, Fisher... Their careers all have a foot in the grave. Why would KD want to come to a dying franchise, when he is already with the team of the future? Maybe LA would love him, but not nearly as much as OKC. And I couldn't help but notice how quiet it was in Staples. That's a shame for such a good team. And that was playoff atmosphere?
