It's less than 24 hours after our iPhone 5 Teardown and we have received a lot of questions about it. It's come to our attention that a lot of you are concerned about the scuffability of the iPhone 5's aluminum rear case, so much so that there's already a scandal brewing around it, which the Internet is calling "scuff-gate." We set out to find out just how much truth there is to the latest scandal surrounding a Apple product release, and have a little fun while we were at it.

Yes, SMS language is a method of communication commonly used by people that are either too poorly educated to spell common words or too lazy to care that it makes them look retarded.

Its flattering that you feel the need to "prove yourself" to me by listing off the things you have, even though what you listed is somewhat meager.

Try doing the same test to a Samsung S4, the plastic back would fall off before you could do anything to it.

That's such a lame Apple fanboy comment.

I have a Sony Xperia Z now, and had a Samsung Galaxy S2 and an Iphone 4 before this. Out of those three, the Galaxy S2 was the most damage resistant.

I took off the battery cover of the S2, bent it in half completely. Pressed it flat on the table, and it looked great again.

Also dropped the S2 off the stairs and on concrete and no damage whatsoever.

Plastic has it's advantages. It's really sturdy, and the back doesn't fall off off it. That's lame..

I have a "friend" who's dropped his iPhone 4S 3 times, from between chest and head level, well over 5 feet. All three times were outside where it fell on concrete or asphalt. You can't even tell it has ever been dropped.

Yes. Very true. But the warranty doesn't last forever. So if there was ever a reason to, you could. But I wouldn't say you can't unless you've done it. like i've said in previous comments...it's two pentalobe screws and then pop open. disconnect the logic board. it's their easiest build yet.
