they are great guns. they are a good beater gun or one that you have hidden somewhere in your house and almost all but forget about it. you could duracoat it and have a cool looking gun. (once you have everything fine tuned it will serve you well)

at the end of the day if you need a cheap gun... cut back on cigarettes, boose, gas. and in two or three months you will have the money for a nicer gun that you will be proud of.

I still believe that 95 percent of people hating on hi point have never shot one. It is the best under 200 dollar pistol out there. If these bastards would get off of call of duty for a min and try one they would understand.

I have several pistols and bought the Highpoint .40. Love it, one of the selling points was its bulk.I just like the way it looks. my carry weapon is still my Russian made 213 9mm, very slim. shot over a thousand rounds with no problems.

I'm gonna buy one this week! Any thing cheaper always gets a bad Rep as being cheap and unreliable. Not always the case people always say buy American! And it has a lifetime warranty.. Can't beat that I carry a sw40 sigma and o hear the same crap from people cheap not reliable.. wrong fits great in hand never jams very accurate.. Nice review

I also don't get why people don't like the aesthetics. Yeah, it's not a metallic gun. So what? It has a futuristic look in its own right. I love shooting it and I never have to worry about losing much money if I ever drop it.

It comes with a lifetime warranty anyway - who could complain for $150 bucks new?

The Hi Point is a fun gun to shoot. It is INCREDIBLY WELL BALANCED when it comes to actually firing.

The concept of "saving up and getting a better gun" is not realistic for everyone. Some people just need a decent gun for protection until they can afford to drop $500-$800.

@Hottrodpt People could also just buy police trade-ins. I just bought an S&W .38 for around $175. However if you are on a budget, a 9mm is the same regardless if its a Hi-point or beretta.
