This is part 2 of the discussion about vaginismus between Dr. Pacik and Rhea Orion, sex therapist.

Part 2 covers the spectrum of painful intercourse from pain with intercourse to the inability to have intercourse because of severe pain and fear. The Lamont classification grades the severity of vaginismus from the milder level 1 conditions to the more severe level 4 conditions. The value of Botox and dilators done under anesthesia is explained..

  • When Sex Seems Impossible. Stories of Vaginismus and How You Can Achieve Intimacy is now available through my office, Amazon, and Kindle. The book helps you understand vaginismus, various treatment options, a guide to determine the severity of the condition (Lamont classification) and the current understanding of the use of Botox treatment and progressive dilation under anesthesia. Post procedure couseling is discusssed as well as the support our patients receive.

  • In September 2010 we received FDA approval to continue our study using Botox and progressive dilation under anesthesia for the treatment of vaginismus. The study has been ongoing and we are currently accepting vaginismus patients age 20-40 in good health for enrollment for this treatment.

  • Thanks for your kind remarks.

The importance of part 3 YouTube on vaginismus deals with moving from dilators to intercourse and is very helpful to our patients who have been treated with Botox and dilators under anesthesia.

  • The Lamont classification for the severity of vaginismus.

How Botox, and a long acting local anesthetic are injected at the time of treatment under anesthesia for the cure of vaginismus.

The use of progressive dilation also done during the same anesthetic and the benefits of leaving a vaginal dilator in place.

The value of having the husband or partner in the operating room.

How the woman wakes up in the recovery room with a dilator in place.

  • What when you have to pee , can you remove the dilator ?

  • I'm very thankful that Dr. Pacik has posted this information. It is so important to get the word out about Vaginismus so that women don't have to continue to suffer in silence. I'm so glad that I decided to break my silence and have the procedure!!

  • I have the honor of being on Dr. Pacik's Staff. So many women come feeling defeated & exhausted from chasing down possible cures and getting nowhere. These same women are achieving monumentous victories, making real progress & having hope restored after treatment by Dr. Pacik. Imagine the joy of our staff when Dr. Pacik announced that one of our Vaginismus Patients had given birth!!! I just wanted to say that there is Hope for the Hopeless and his name is Peter Pacik.
