I wish I could get a trip in a time machine - one way would do!

I love this version, I think it may be even better than Vera Lynn's which is saying something.

A beautiful voice with one of the all-time great orchestras. Thanks for posting this gem.

This is one of my all time favourite songs by Anne Lenner with Carroll Gibbons - I first heard it in the 1960's as a child and have loved the sound of her voice ever since

That's great thank you for posting. I also like Anne Shelton's version with Ambrose orch.

For me, this is a bit too fast. I prefer the Elsie Carlisle version. A nice version all the same.
At the time this recording was made in London - in the spring of 1940 - the Dunkirk escape - Britain was all alone in the face of invasion by the Nazis as most of the European Continent had already been over-run & occupied by Nazi troops. It was a time of great danger & uncertainly for the British, followed by the Blitz later that year, but this lovely song raised spirits & not even the bombs could kill love and romance among the British or stop them making the most of life in those days.
