So, were safely back in Adelaide having braved temperatures of 42oC in the bush today. Even back in the city it was 39oC at 7pm; an absolute scorcher as the Aussies would say!

We had to cover 500km to make it back to the city so we set off early, travelling through remarkable outback with the 80s disco tunes blazing from the bus. First stop was the Cultural Centre in Port Augusta. Did you know that the aboriginal people bind spear heads to their spears using the leg sinews of freshly dead kangaroos? Or that opal miners at Coober Pedy have to live underground because its so hot?! I do now

Last stop on the trip was the Southern Flinders ranges. We took a walk through the spectacular Alligator Gorge, smelled the eucalyptus and satisfyingly saw at least one dangerous snake and spider!

With nothing left to do but pile on the bus we were entertained on the way home by Leith our fantastic guide a cross between Jim Carey and the late Steve Irwin. Honestly, Im not joking.

Massive thanks to Nullabor Traveller for an absolutely incredible six days.
