This short handheld video was taken aboard a new Kadey-Krogen 58' as we departed Fort Pierce Inlet, Florida on a day when the strong east winds and waves opposed the strong outgoing tide. The result was a washing-machine ride that was handled well by the big, heavy Krogen. Not comfortable, but safe.
I believe that was a stabilizer alarm indicating maximum travel on the stabilizer fins; not unusual for a very rough patch and likely causes by one of the fins briefly coming out of the water when the boat came off the back of a wave. The big crash is the fridge emptying itself because we were dorks and forgot to latch it, like all good sailors do.
