Pair of Orion HCCA 15.4's tuned to 35Hz powered by a rockford T30001BD, 200amp alternator, 1/0 welding cable, dual batteries. Crappy canon camera doesnt do these subs justice, just cant get the detial of how impressive they are. Not done installing them yet, waiting till its warmer out to finish my half wall setup.

  • is the bigger the better when it comes to subs? theres some 12inch ones i can get but are 15's any better?

  • yes and no, 15's have a lower response range but need a lot more space. They will also seem louder because they have a greater surface area and move more air. So if you can fit them is bigger better? HELL YEA

  • @Cstremes this may be a noob question but how different do 15s sound from 12s? i got a 12 fi btl and i love the hit me in the chest feeling and im trying to get a btl 15 but my buddy said it wouldnt be as loud because 15s and 18s are only for deep bass and wont be as loud..? true?

  • @JoSeDbZcOoL False, it will seem louder because its moving more air. read the above post ^^^^^

  • Permission granted to remove the assbahn sticker anytime now, lol

  • haha.. that was gone that day it was warm enough to put the proper Orion decals on, around -10C i think lol

  • @perro123123 completely depends on sub. Sometimes 12's are louder due to box freq and type of sub etc etc. Sometimes not. 15's definitely need more space for obvious reasons although hcca's seem to handle just as well in about the same ft^3 as an average 12" sub would need. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the type of surround, which allows for more cone area in this case and the crazy pktopk; also the extremely stiff spiders these guys have. One of the best subs I've ever owned.

  • What's the song

  • @Cstremes no it will not sound louder everytime.it depends on how much dB per wattage the sub can do! there are some 15 out there who only do 90, and some 10s who do more than 95db at 1w... also: as bigger the sub, as more weight it got, so it will hit "slower" than a more little..is ur mid-bass performs down to about 60, that wont be a problem, but if its not going under 100hz, u will get a big bass-lag ;) the best way to find the right sub for you: pre listen to it in shop or a audio show...

  • i still cant find the song!

  • @JoSeDbZcOoL i guess u know better then orion then

  • @Njutarface lulz fail, ive learned alot since that post. it all depends on hte box and what your tuned too, shit 18s can play rock better then 12s

  • @JoSeDbZcOoL 12s are better for "kick" sounds, like Hardstyle hardcore and such, 15" and 18" better for deep bass songs

  • oh i will have videos up soon and my box is getting built now i got the 10 model orions videos will be up begining first week of april right now im doing alot of dynamatting to my truck
