I'm a vegetarian, and I've done raw vegan, and vegan. It's really up to the individual to choose what's healthy for them. Everyone is different. I have my own convictions about why I should be a vegetarian. But that's me. I don't go around telling my friends they should do this or that.

@SunUp08 Hope this is my last mess. The bacteria able to produce B12 may be found in our colon, which is useless, as B12 is absorbed in the stomach and small intestine through a quite complex mechanism. That's why herbivores developed a system (rumen) that allowed them to digest/absorb the food they are eating. People, are not designed like that. Sorry! If you want more information...it's free of charge.

@SunUp08 Animals who have similar type of blood/systems are omnivores. Hope you don't think people have similar systems with cows or other herbivores. Unfortunately no rumens were designed for people (LOL). As long as you eat diary/egg products you are safe. If you are strictly vegan, it is quite dangerous as B12 is in DNA production.

@ancamg Perhaps it is not I that has shut off their mind?? ;-) I'm very open to a number of 'diets.' But you can't run away from the fact that B12 comes from bacteria, and can be produced in the body. How many large vegetarian mammals do you think are deficient in B12?
-
@SunUp08 Unfortunately B12 deficiency is not a myth. But I know I can't convince you simply because you shut your mind off. Megaloblastic anemias appear in non vegan population linked to other diseases. Pure B12 deficiency anemia is only linked to vegan diets. Sincerely I wish I were wrong, but that's not the case.

@ancamg The B12 thing is pretty much a myth. If you do your research you will find that B12 is actually produced by Bacteria on which BOTH plants and animals rely. In humans, the bacteria can come from the mouth, upper intestine, and lower intestine. Animal foods are only rich in B12 cuz they eat foods that are contaminated with that particular bacteria or their intestines are producing it. Seaweed is rich in B12 tho.
Interesting to note that most people with B12 deficiencies are not vegans.

After watching a few of your videos, I have come to respect you more and more. I am not a raw foodist, or a vegan, but I do respect a person's decision to choose that diet. And I respect the fact that you don't attack people who like to eat meat, unlike what most vegans do.

Aren't carrots actually better for you if they are cooked? Also, in regards to nuts like peanuts, almonds, etc. you should ALWAYS soak them in oil, such as palm oil, and then cook them. The body cannot digest raw nuts. That's why you see them in your poop.

@SunUp08 I am sure you know, but for example B12 is not found in any vegetables/fruits. Do you prefer to take pills? It's your choice, but kids don't have this luxury.
B12 deficiency affect erythrocytes maturation, and megaloblastic anemia is the result. There is no perfect way of eating! We only like to think so...

@ancamg I'm not a raw foodist... yet, but your comment is whack and shows lack of nutritional knowledge.
