wait so this isn't based on the movie?

I remember when this came out, I got my copy in 1998. It was amazing then, and still is!

I remember being in this show about seven years ago at the high school I now go to to. I was Jack Thayer. This really brought back memories :)

That was so cool. I have always wanted to see this show and I guess I would take clips over nothing at all.

@Funstuff13613 --- LOL!
The thing about Maury's musical of TITANIC is that it's more about people striving for something beyond their ability to quite do yet than about the tragedy itself. The very opening of the show has the designer of the boat talking about how in every age, mankind tries to do something that seems impossible, such as the pyramids, the aqueducts of Rome, etc. Then this same ambitious sentiment comes back at the end of the show, with the ghosts of passengers joining in.

@morricone1900 I had the good fortune to have played in the orchestra section of a amateur production of this brilliant show, the music / score / chorus and performance was was just amazing, the cast even received a personal good luck message from Maury Yeston himself . I wondered if there were resources to find out the amazing musican's who played on the original broadway recording, ( Especially the Brass section ) these guys deserve a huge mention.

This play is so amazing, I saw it in Columbus, Ohio. I have ordered the cd of the music several times because I lose it. I really hope they will put out the DVD because it is so amazing and wonderful.
OMG, this is amazing!!!!! Thank you so much for posting this. I love this musical to pieces and I absolutely adore everyone in the original cast. More people need to get exposed to this beautiful score :)

Couldn't agree more, but what annoys me is you say Titanic themusical and people go. "What? oh gd that would be torture, a musical with Jack and Rose in." Then you say no it's got no relevence to them, the whole story is true, and they say summi like "it sounds cheesey" when it is a good way i think of teaching people about the titanic.

So true! Having seen both the movie and musical, I can honestly say that it was the musical that made me want to go out and learn more about the real people involved in the Titanic disaster. Aside from being wonderful theatre, it's also a very moving tribute to the victims and survivors of the event.

Defo. I am currently watching the Mini series with Catherine Zeta Jones and it looks lik the idea for the musical was based on that film, as alot of the dialogue and characters and sub stories were taken from that. Even though obviosly the true event is what it is based on. I am currently researching the passengers aboard the Titanic as i am begining to make my own case study into Titanic. And the musical is what has made me decide to do that. I want it to come back.
