@skiwhh what ticks me off the most is how much this gate jolted his ski. He clearly noticed and decided to take the win. He's got no integrity whatsoever

@skiwhh Actually, straddling does not always slow the skier or throw off balance. It gives the skier a more direct line and thus an advantage. You're supposed to get both feet around the gate in slalom. That's what the gates are there fore. Marcel's just a poor sport for not turning himself in. Any decent person would have.

This is for those who don't get skiing slalom skiing, (many here), hooking a gate is not an advantage, it actually slows the skier, and he has to adjust his balance. The line is the same, there should be no penalty for straddling or hooking a tip.
Hirscher is the future of skiing and he shows a new level of technique, Kostelic is an angry old skier, soon to be ex-athlete.
