Paramedics try to stop a runaway car with an unconscious woman and a child inside. This segment was taken from Episode 314 which aired on January 7, 1992 on CBS. This particular version of the segment was taken from a 30-minute syndicated episode, so small parts of it may have been cut out to make room for commercials.

I don't remember. Probably in the early 90's, but I don't think they became standard until the mid to late 90's. My parents first bought a vehicle with an airbag in 1993 or 1994.

People who drink alcohol shouldn't be allowed to drive, but they get their licenses back even after receiving two or three 'driving while intoxicated' citations.

It's amazing how few people care about that until after some other driver is hurt or killed by a drunk driver.

In my work as a Paramedic, I see drunk driving accidents 3 and 4 times a month.

I can't remember the last time I saw an accident caused by a medical condition.

I remember my family watched this when i was a kid. i was just in preschool then and was learning all about 911 and how it helps people! Im 19 now and love to watch shows that remind me of simpler days.

I have called 911 3 (or 4) times to report possible drunks, I learned one was latter arrested and high on drugs, but they did not weave that much! If they were and there as not a cop or ambulance in sight I would try to safely stop it. I don't care what the insurance company would say about it. If I don't do anything someone died due to my inaction and I would never forgive my self. If I died trying to stop the car, it would be ok ,because I died trying to save someone else.

pekin hospital is terrible. they hire the drs that local hospitals deny. if you went to the ER with a splinter in your finger plan on coming out with a leg amputated.
