  • Ok, to the people saying you shouldn't remove animals from the wild, yes, it may be wrong, but one, they've already been taken. Two, they have a much longer life expectancy in the care of a -loving- human, note I was specific because some people are assholes, than in the care of mother nature. To those saying they're ripped from their mother by death, well you might as well take one then since they have no mother to go back to, leaving them a helpless orphan. Plus, I've never seen proof of that.

  • Maybe you should put something solid on the floor of cage so that the feet arent stressed. its like its always walking on wire.

  • @TheGwynnSmith The fact that so few animals have been successfully domesticated in the history of human civilization clearly indicates that it is not an easy or common transition It appears that relatively small number of species have ever had the appropriate set of qualities to become truly domesticated in the first place. The animals that have been domesticated have been so for a reason- plenty of people have tried and failed to domesticate zebras and African elephants, for example.

  • @Daniloveschoir So people should have listened when people said dogs and cats shouldn't have been domesticated? I guess I can sort of agree as now the population of dogs and cats is so outrageous that millions die every day in kill shelters due to lack of homes...But I am so happy to have my 2 dogs 3 cats 3 hedgehogs and 2 parrots. They are my world and I don't know how I'd live without them.

  • @Daniloveschoir Point of my comment, freedom does not mean a healthy, long life.

Though, I agree with your statement about people just going I WANT ONE OMG. I don't support people diving head first into -any- animal, especially exotics. Everyone should do their -research- before getting involved with any animal, once again, especially exotics, and especially these guys, as they require a lot of work to maintain.

  • @Shithra yeah but look how many people are saying "ooh I want one for a pet" like they're toys, and not "oh I would like to rescue an abandoned one and give it as appropriate a habit as I can." And just some food for thought- in my experience, every wild animal wants freedom more than anything. Kind of like humans.

  • @dreyaleesings you shouldn't 'handle' them because they're wild animals and shouldn't be made to be like dogs and cats, animals that were domesticated over thousands of years

  • How much do they cost? Are there coati breeders?

  • how do you train them?

and also, how do you handle "nipping" or little bites
