Thanks again! F# minor is probably the most popular key for NAFs. As I mentioned in the video, it has a very special sound.

"Thank you!" (he said, bowing deeply) I'm sure Richard is also thanking you right now, too. I'm guessing that each one is made of a different kind of wood, correct?

Your Jonah Thompson "F#" flute seems to actually be tuned to F-natural! Did they send you an F minor by mistake?

Yes, that's correct. I've mentioned this in previous videos as well. It's actually somewhere between F natural & F# (minor). Of course, the air temperature will also dictate which direction the pitch leans more toward - the wonders of wood! The tuning issue is, I'm told, often the case with JT flutes:while they're well in-tune with themselfves, they're not always accurately concert-pitched. It's not really a mistake, per se, it's just that his flutes are sometimes like that.

Hey Bruce, thanks for presenting the flutes, wow, so may flutes in the same key! I have only two, by High Spririts. The pocket A and... the special Migration F# in Cedar and I loooove it! I'm not a very good player.. yet and I consider myself not only the owner but also and foremost the caretaker of this exceptional flute. Looking forward to your other presentations!

Hey Bruce, listen to the end run down where you compare them all. At first I thought it was just a pitch thing but it seems as if all the flutes are a bit different in terms of tuning. Do you have a tuner? If so you should see which flute is closest to true F#

Beautiful tulip poplar flute!!! He makes some amazing flutes. I myself do not own a laughing crow flute but I bought my two JT flutes from him. He is actually in the process of repairing my JT F# because of a small crack located on the underside of the slow air chamber. But yeah. He is also very kind and helpful.

Thanks for the great comparison, very interesting. Can you help me understand the vibrato? Is it created by you wind manipulation or a product of the wood? Thanks for the help.
