Tortall- Alanna

OMG, ALANNA DOESN'T HAVE RED HAIR! No, and the very simple explanation is that I wasn't able to find a cross-dressing actress in a period movie with the requisite hair colour. If anyone finds someone who fits the bill, let me know; until then, Alanna has a dye job.

Since this year is the 25th anniversary of the publication of Alanna: The First Adventure, I felt a tribute was in order.

Noble girls are sent to convents to learn magic, but Alanna wants none of that- her plan is to become Tortall's first Lady Knight. Enlisting the help of her manservant Coram, and the handsome Rogue George Cooper, Alanna dresses as a boy in order to fulfull her quest. In the ensuing training, she will discover many things about herself- her strength, her courage, and her ability to love.

She looks like how I pictured Alanna (minus the red hair) short, but well built. Features that at first glance are masculine, but then you see how feminine she is. WHY OH WHY CAN'T THIS BE REAL????
