the 172 grains is not the charge. It's the weight of the projectile. the charge would be anywhere from the weight of 45 to 47 grains of powder. grains are a unit of measurement.

@Blue79 I believe he meant 174 grain bullet.

@Dp908 Agreed! A 172gr charge would never fit inside that casing.

@XGDRabidPanda I live 100 miles from JG's store, so I picked mine up in person.

@Oheeeoh how much was shipping, I have looked around on JGsales alot. It is kinda scary that it is cheaper to order one from them in Arizona and have it shipped to me in KY. AK47 here is 800 on the web 400

@XGDRabidPanda I just bought one yesterday from JG sales for $199.95.

How much does a K31 cost now days?
Is the barrel wearing out quicker sinds that gp11 round you show has a steel head instead of copper plated?

@MrCvjetko In all honesty, due to the price of the ammo, I don't fire it as often. However, despite the fact that my rifle is almost 69 years old and was a military service rifle, its rifling is still excellent. The bore is bright and shiny, and everything about the rifle is in great shape (except the rear stock, of course).

Before shooting your GP11 ammo, do you remove the beeswax? I think that stuff may tend to gunk up the barrel a bit.

I take no special action on the GP11 ammo before firing it. Remember to always clean your rifle after shooting. That'll keep any "gunk" build-up down.
