Space shuttle Endeavour and its six astronauts returned to Earth on Wednesday, ending the next-to-last mission in NASA's 30-year programme with a safe landing in the middle of the night.

So the program runned for 30 years, as they couldn´t come up with anything new, then space programs are cancelled because they can no longer be afforded?
Where is the outrage?
The United States needs another revolution, has for a long time, yet nothing happen. Looks like the sleeper needs a kick in the ass.

Interesting things gonna happen after the shuttles are gone. Hopefully ESA gets a capsule of their own. And I'd be very interested in seeing a new russian spacecraft design. Buran might not be resurrected, though :(

@myquill23 They copied the whole general idea. Russians are notorious for being able to look at something, get the idea, and build their own. It's not a 1 for 1 copy, but as far as them being space shuttles, it's a copy of ours. So much in fact that they dont look too unsimilar.
The only real differences are internal electronics, and that's it. That and the Buran once hat small jets fitted so they could flight test it before launching it lol. Read the history of it if ya dont believe me.
