This is not just music it is soul food. Listen to the singing, watch the interplay between all the participants. Listen to yourself and how it makes you feel. This is what "making music" is all about.

What a room! How'd ya like to be a mouse in the corner : ) Maura is sensational and so modest. I love the look of admiration Nanci Griffith has. The whole TS series should be on a "world channel" available to to everyone, anytime. Should be mandatory in schools, courtrooms and corporate offices... might turn out to be a much better world. Oh well, I'll get the DVD of TS 2 when it hits the shelves. Thanks for posting this! willy

My little dog "sings" along to this video exclusively. This video is one of my favorites, so it shows up frequently on my playlists and I guess she's also learned to love it. I don't know if it's the harmony, the timbre or something else that prompts her to sing. I posted video of her - search for "Alice Babette" to find it. This morning she sat on my lap and howled right along again.

Not that it's important, but this was made and filmed in Scotland. All the "Transatlantic Sessions" were, and the landscape you see outside is definitely Alba, not Eire!
But it's the musicians that make this so special. And while Grant & Matheson are Scots, the others like Maura and Thompson are Irish/English and Douglas (my fav) is American, it's their blend that makes this unique.
Forgot Bain & Cunningham too!
