Another idiot who thinks Cockermouth i in a 'flood plain'. Its on the banks of a river and the mains street runs along the bottom of a slope. They are just very unlucky with the volume of water that drains of the giant mountain behind it. And I'd challenge anyone to build effective flood defences there, the water was flowing downhill and the river was rising, so the place was being flooded from all around.

the facts are simple the council should of made better protection they did not and nobody thought this would happen. well dahhh it did and it will again if you cannot afford to protect yourself move. and by the way i own a house and a villa twat.
