Thankyou...It's a great fly for rivers and streams and even lochs as I have caught more fish on this nymph pattern than any other I have tyed....

I like using the wire the most but you don't need to, you can easily use a plain coloured or metallic thread with great effect..

I worked for over 10 years at a trout fishery and if someone saw me catching fish when the fish weren't rising then they all knew I was fishing a pheasant tail nymph as it's by far the best fly you could have in your box. The colours that I used most were black, natural, claret, natural dyed lime green, all colours of olives and any other colour you can find is worth tying and trying..ATB Davie
