In game footage of the revamp of Castlevania - Bloodletting I've been working on since November of 2007. The original game was very amateurishly done and this revamp better serves as an example of true classic vania style gameplay. I went back to the original style HUD versus the Dracula X style because I felt it better suited the gameplay since I was ultimately shooting for a style along the lines of Super Castlevania IV.

The revamp is coming along nicely and many of the original bugs have been fixed making the game easier to play. While I have upped the difficulty the game feels truer to a Castlevania than it originally once did. The game will have 8 stages and I'm currently working on Stage 3. However there will be a slew of alternate paths and secrets in the game.

  • i press shift alot and then i get the damn sticky keys

  • @DiabloDave363 read the README and redefine the controls to solve that issue. Or turn off sticky keys.

  • Why use Capcom based sprites? IMO you should stick with the Konami ones, there´s plenty to go for!!!

  • @areliusmars Because Konami didn't have sprites like this :D

  • what is the music starting at 7:40 and where can i find it? i remember the old version from the first castlevania.

  • @reikokahn1 It is a remix of "Heart of Fire" made by JILost. You can find it on google. He's made three different versions.

  • Where can one find this game at?

  • i love your games =)

  • 1:29 Boss from Super Ghouls n Ghost ( SNES ) ?? XD. Very nice!!!

  • What´s the name of the third theme? i want it!

  • Very well done-Bravo!!

  • it is a masterpiece !!!

  • Thought I'd just through it out there for ppl that don't know;

    You can customize your controls by pressing 0 (not on the numpad).

  • Yeah I've already downloaded this and am playing it (or at least attempting to... it's frickin difficult). Definitely one of the best homebrew CV games. The intro is frickin epic; basically talking about how kick ass the Belmonts are. It really gives you a sense that not only is your journey important, but your very survival as well (being that you're the last in the line of Belmonts).

  • @piscesdreams1023 This is great. Thanks alot for making this and Im sorry it took me this long to hear about it. I heared somewhere that you lost the data for this game and can not work on it any longer? If so thats unfortunate. What version of the "Vampire Killer" song did you use in the first stage?

  • Not as good as the originals, but nice for a fan-made game.
