  • Be careful about using regular if your manufacturer recommends premium. I once used mid-grade instead of premium and it constantly backfired and lost a significant amount of power. My friend uses regular instead of premium to save money, but it causes his entire car to shake, including the steering wheel.

  • This guy is a dumbass

  • @floggingmollynerd No sense, the alternator diods call for more electricity when the accessories are on and that causes the atternator to have more drag as it is working harder to replace the electricity used. Sorry...

  • 10%+10%+8%+5%+10% = 43%

well when ill drive 100miles ill have 43% left-over oil!!??

  • @floggingmollynerd just because the belt is turning it doesnt mean it is putting a load on the engine. go outside and try this.depending on how old your car is it may or may not be as aparent. go start your car and wait for it to warm up. now put your hand on the headlight switch.and defrost button at the same time. turn them both on and you should see your rpms dip slightly if even for a moment. otherwise do the same thing by turning your ac on or turning the stearing wheel suddenly

  • @frosty9595 ok so what your not getting! is the alternator runs off of the serpentine belt, which turns around and around when the engine is on...the alternator kicks on and produces electricity. so if you have something in your vehicle turned on such as ac it runs off the serpentine belt which again is always rotating so no it does not take extra gas to run your ac.. it runs off the gas already being used to move the serpentine belt...make sense??? if not then oh well

  • @floggingmollynerd they draw electricity. that puts a load on the alternator. the alternator then requires more force to turn. that force has to be provided by the engine. the engine must work.harder to provide it. that extra work requires extra gas

  • @frosty9595 ok yeah but doesn't effect the gas millage! it's been tested!

  • @floggingmollynerd The more electricity you use, the more resistance the alternator creates for the engine. the same thing applies to power stearing and ac.

all of these steals power from the engine, which makes it use more gas.

trust me, i work with these things on a daily basis.
