Dr. Brady R. Allred conducts the award-winning University of Utah Singers as they perform Glory to God in the Highest by Randall Thompson. The University Singers performed this piece on October 26, 2008 at Libby Gardner Concert Hall on the University of Utah Campus in Salt Lake City, UT.
I sang with this choir when I was at the U of U in the 1970s... and we sang lots of Randall Thompson, including this very song. That was under Dr. Newell Weight when we were called the U of U Acapella Choir. These guys are really really good ... I hope we sounded half as good as this bunch of great singers. Fantastic.

My choir's doing this right now, dang is it complex. Took us all of two weeks to even learn it part by part, let alone the endless hours of tweaking that are sure to come.

Yeah the middle could be a lot slower, and the very end could be a lot slower as well. Otherwise, great vocal quality. A great bunch of singers!

Great job. I love that piece. And you got rid of 3 or 4 'R's' in Glory. :D The middle could be a bit slower, and the sopranos need to bring out the 2-against-3 hemeola at the end of the 'A' sections, but this is definitely a keeper!
