One thing that sets Jeff apart from other sax players is that when he plays the sax, he plays the sax. A lot of people that play the sax play jazz and not the sax, if that make sense. He's not restricted to any genre. When I think of Jeff I don't think of Jazz, I think about the sax.

@JazzVideoGuy correction My Friend. He is very much so on the "Jazz radar"
As much as I love Leroi and miss Him. Jeff is the only replacement i could imagine trying to fill the shoes of Moore.

How do we play all genres?

@1979saxman There are hundreds of great saxophone players "out there." Not all of them get The Break.
Speaking of sax players who don't get the accolades and visibility they deserve, check out The Dave Weckl Band CD Multiplicity with Gary Meeks on sax. This cat is amazing and is one of my favorites! But, in my opinion the all time best "fusion" saxman is Bob Berg!

@MrSaxman2009 Yes for Bob Berg, a true Giant for his work with Miles and Horace Silver, among others.

I think Coffin's one of the very few modern jazz giants out there today, easily on par with Branford, Joshua Redman, and George Garzone although Garzone is not nearly as well known as the other three.
Your thoughts, Brett?

@1979saxman Jeff is an excellent player with a very individual approach. He also leads a very cool band, the Mu'Tet. He's not on the Jazz radar yet, but he will be.
