A dear friend died after getting swept over a 500 foot section of cliff at Alpental yesterday. Be careful. That was amazing!

@AuldTek oops, String's descent was in March 2006. i.imgur. com/wxxCf.jpg & i.imgur. com/LUj12.jpg

@hankncari There was no video of String on 80's Chute/ESAD in March 2007, just one photographer with a lens too short for what was going down. Frequency mag had the slides from that day, but they decided Alpy was too flat and didn't publish the shots. BTW, it is very unlikely that anyone will ever charge the top section of 80's Chute/ESAD. That shit is gnar even in Alpy terms.

First time, I ever saw that skied was during the 98-99 season by some kid named Dylan, later skied shot 4 two times the same day, but on his second attempt on shot 4 fell and got injured and got banned for the rest of the season. The same season I got banned for skiing shot 4. I spent way too many years ski bumming at Alpental, but it just shows how much the area has to offer to those who want a challenge.

One word... Balls
dude alpental is a scary place. and that has got to be the craziest thing that weve seen here at snoqualmie. its pretty much an 80 degree face. its unbelievable when you see it.
