Verify Your WordPress Website in Google Webmaster Tools - Video

http://goo.gl/ql3jK - There are two ways to verify your WordPress Website in Google Webmaster Tools - 1) File Upload and 2) Meta Tag. I'll show you how to do both in this video. Once your site is verified in Webmaster Tools you can submit an XML Sitemap, find crawl errors, duplicate content issues, and host of other diagnostics to make sure Google can crawl your WordPress Website effectively.

Note: Now you can even verify your site with Google Webmaster tools using Google Analytics!

Good video. but wordpress and google webmaster central have changed. They give you a simple code but neither site explains how to insert it. Wordpress says you have to add a meta tag but I've tried that in every variation imaginable. It just doesn't work. Can you update this video?

@MrMotihips Both the meta tag and file methods for verifying still work in Google Webmaster tools. They have added a new method though - if you have Google Analytics installed on your site, then you can use THAT to verify without having to add anything additional. Hi Don, I followed your instructions with inserting the meta tag. It appears in my source code. The problem is no data seems to linking to the webmaster tools, any ideas??

@padgo98 Sometimes you have to give it a few minutes. You should also verify that it is in the head section of your website source code.
