  • You kids are retarded. Ever heard of Daft Punk or Moodymann?

If you don't get sampling, you don't get house. Go away.

  • Hey guys, the only reason for that is that editing and drum production equipment is lightyears ahead of the 70's now. Otherwise, this song would be killing it on dancefloors right now. Armand Van Helden just put a massive electronic kick drum under the chorus, cut back some of the layers, pulled out a few sections, and there you are. A real music fan will realize this, and respect the original for it's brilliance in writing, playing and production.

  • @normvork

They pay sample clearance and if you would buy the record it would say "contains samples from final edition i can do it"

  • This is a great song

armand has a great ear for samples and knows how to flip them

Of course hes from new york and they got that whole hiphop vibe going down there and new york hiphop is all about crate digging and looking for those hot samples and loops.

Yeah armand makes house but you could also say he is making hiphop.
