Hey guys, the only reason for that is that editing and drum production equipment is lightyears ahead of the 70's now. Otherwise, this song would be killing it on dancefloors right now. Armand Van Helden just put a massive electronic kick drum under the chorus, cut back some of the layers, pulled out a few sections, and there you are. A real music fan will realize this, and respect the original for it's brilliance in writing, playing and production.

It's weird that a song which wasn't even that successful at the time (to my knowledge) can be made into such a hit nowadays when all the elements are here in this song, albeit in a less 'accessible' way. Just shows you the wealth of material there is from the 60s/70s/80s and how you don't really get the songwriting prowess in the current mainstream genres. Ironically house is imo one of the more interesting genres popular at the minute...
