I think you were misinformed. Belief in Jesus Christ and His death for our sins isn't just about making us feel a certain way although it does give us joy, peace, and hope beyond measure. Belief in HIm is centered on what He did for us. The Word of God says that it is appointed unto a man once to die then comes judgement. We believe because Jesus Christ took the punishment we deserved for breaking the 10 Commandments so we can receive grace on Judgement day instead of hell.
