Directed by Lasse Halström and based on the novel by best-selling author Nicholas Sparks, DEAR JOHN tells the story of John Tyree (Channing Tatum), a young soldier home on leave, and Savannah Curtis (Amanda Seyfried), the idealistic college student he falls in love with during her spring vacation. Over the next seven tumultuous years, the couple is separated by Johns increasingly dangerous deployments. While meeting only sporadically, they stay in touch by sending a continuous stream of love letters overseas--correspondence that eventually triggers fateful consequences.

There's so much i want to say to you, but i'm not sure where i should begin. Should i start by telling you that i love you? Or that the days i've spent w/ you have been the happiest in my life? Or that in the short time i've known you, I've come to believe that we were meant to be together? @thesargoni I agree. I wish they had made the movie more like the book. The 2 things I think I missed the most was that Tim was like 10 years older than her in movie and in the book they're about the same age. And that in the movie, Tim dies and I like the alternate ending better on the DVD. To me that was the real ending and the movie made up their own "alternate" ending. Did you love the book? I loved it! Do u read a lot Sparks books?
