I no a bettr way, wen u pik dem fresh out of d sea, use a knife to open d shell, remove d beard n thn remove flesh from shell, thn put mussle flesh n ur mouth, chew thn swallow! Ur way is ok if it has alredy had d beard removed n steamed opn.

@elialore i used one that still had mussels meat in it, and just used it that way then when i emtyed one shell, well there you go.

Thanks for the tip. Sorry if this will sound silly, but what's the technique to empty the first mussle that will become your tweezer? You shake the mussle or empty it with your fingers?
